Famous for its magnificent autumn colour, green leaves in summer turn a copper like colour in the autumn and although a deciduous variety it can retain some foliage to offer some coverage over the winter months (subject to weather and exposed locations).
Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus)
Hornbeam or Carpinus Betulus is a popular native hedge that produces wonderful autumn colour similar to Beech hedging. A nice dense green screen in summer that is a great wind and noise break, turning a copper colour in the autumn and can retain some foliage throughout the winter depending on weather and if exposed.
