Bird cherry or Prunus Padus is a native hedging plant that is popular in a mixed native hedge. This deciduous variety has white flowers in spring followed by berries in the summer making this popular with local wildlife. Bird cherry has a growth rate of 20-40cm per annum and will tolerate all soil types and locations, most comonly used in a mixed native hedgerow.
